Western Kentucky: In 2009, Western Kentucky's first year as a full FBS member, the school failed to notch a single victory. Just three years later, the Hilltoppers find themselves in their first ever bowl game. Running back Antonio Andrews led the WKU ground attack with 1,609 yards and 11 touchdowns on 5.8 yards per carry. The Hilltoppers' defense led the Sun Belt with 31 sacks this season and average 7.42 tackles for loss per game.
Central Michigan: The Chippewas are bowl-bound for the first time since 2009, having won their final three games to get to 6-6. Junior running back Zurlon Tipton is enjoying a breakout season with 1,649 yards from scrimmage and 20 touchdowns, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. The Chips will be making their fourth appearance in this bowl, which known as the Motor City Bowl the last time they played in Detroit.
