Storyline: Former C-USA rivals will meet again in the Beef 'O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg. Southern Miss is coming off of an 8-4 season with the 15th best offense in the country. Louisville is rebuilding under first-year head coach Charlie Strong, and has the 15th best defense in the land. On the other side of the ball, up to three different quarterbacks could see action as The Ville’s offense has been inconsistent. Louisville looks to beat a quality opponent and get its first winning season since the 2006 campaign. Southern Miss looks to end a four-game losing streak to Louisville and cap a successful season by beating a Big East team. Tuesday evening will mark Southern Miss’s ninth straight bowl appearance.
